Chemical Products

The eCUT processes produce chemical products with high selectivity. Our patented catalyst reacts carbon dioxide with water to produce the monomer, mono ethylene glycol (MEG). We are focused on optimizing and scaling up the reaction of carbon dioxide to MEG and aim to extend the eCUT technology to form even more chemical products that can be used in existing industrial processes.

eCUT-MEG

Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) is a monomer for polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with growing markets. MEG is primarily used in polyester manufacturing. Additionally, it is often used as a heat transfer fluid.

Future Products

METHYLGLYOXAL

Methylglyoxal is a very reactive aldehyde, and a less toxic replacement for formaldehyde. It can be used as monomer and cross-linking agent, as well as platform chemical.

FURANDIOL

2,3-furandiol is not produced traditionally through petrochemical processes and can be used as a monomer for specialty polymers and polyurethanes, as well as an oxygen enhancing additive for fuels.

ecut-FA: Formic Acid

Formic acid is used as an industrial cleaner and is used for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics and can be a building block for other chemicals and materials. Formic acid is traditionally produced from carbon monoxide.

Ethanol

Ethanol is primarily used as a renewable fuel and as solvent.

Monopropylene Glycol

Monopropylene glycol (MPG) is an organic solvent that has many applications, including antifreeze, topical medicines, and food additives and preservatives.
